Therapy for Anxious Overthinking

What would it feel like to not have anxiety constantly running the show?

More calm. Deeper connection. Greater meaning.

When your mind won't stop, it's hard to feel present.

You replay conversations. Anticipate everything that could go wrong. Analyze decisions from every possible angle. Try to solve problems before they happen. You may know that you're overthinking, but knowing doesn't necessarily make it stop.

Therapy can help you step out of the cycle. We don’t try to force your thoughts to disappear. In fact, trying to push difficult thoughts and feelings away tends to make them stronger. Instead, we change your relationship to your thoughts so they have less power over your attention, choices, and everyday life.

You may be caught in anxious overthinking if…
  • You ruminate about events or interactions long after they've happened.

  • You struggle to make decisions because you can see every possible outcome.

  • You constantly anticipate what could go wrong.

  • You seek reassurance but still don't feel settled.

  • Your mind keeps working even when you desperately want to rest.

  • You spend more time thinking about life than actually experiencing it.

Therapy can help you…
  • Feel more comfortable with uncertainty and the things you can’t control

  • Trust yourself to make decisions without overanalyzing every possibility

  • Build confidence in your ability to handle whatever comes next

  • Develop practical tools to interrupt cycles of worry and overthinking

  • Reconnect with yourself, your values, and the present moment

Therapy gives you space to slow down and step out of the cycle of overthinking. We’ll notice the patterns that keep your mind spinning and practice responding to anxious thoughts with flexibility and self-compassion.

We’ll explore what’s underneath the worry so we can understand and heal the deeper beliefs, fears, and experiences that may be fueling the spiral. You’ll learn practical tools for grounding yourself in the present moment, helping you shift your focus out of the past or the future.

We can’t eliminate every anxious thought, but we can help you feel less controlled by them. Our goal is to give you freedom to choose where you place your attention and how you respond to what’s happening.

The Tools We Use

I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Narrative Therapy, integrating the approaches that best fit your goals and the way you experience anxiety.

ACT can help you step out of the struggle with anxious thoughts, stay grounded in the present moment, and make choices based on what matters to you. Living in alignment with your values can help you navigate life’s uncertainties with more confidence and resilience.

IFS helps us approach anxious parts with curiosity and compassion to understand how they’re trying to protect you. We gently help those parts relax their extreme role and strengthen your calm, compassionate Core Self, leading to an inner sense of calm and self-trust.

Narrative Therapy helps us examine the anxious stories you've developed about yourself and your life and create space for new narratives rooted in your strengths, values, and resilience.

Calm • Connection • Meaning

Three things we're working toward.

Lotus

Calm so your mind doesn't have to be in problem-solving mode all the time.

Hands & Heart

Connection so you can be present with yourself and the people around you.

Seedling

Meaning so your choices are guided by your values, not what anxiety tells you.

What to Expect

Therapy sessions are offered securely via telehealth, giving you the flexibility to meet from the comfort and privacy of your own space. We'll typically meet weekly or biweekly, depending on your needs and goals.

You don't need to know exactly what's wrong or which therapy approach you need before you reach out. We'll figure that out together.

You don't have to figure this out alone.

If you're tired of spending so much time inside your head, therapy can help you find your way back to the present. Send me a message to take that first step. We'll find your path forward together.
