Individual Therapy
Guiding you towards calm, connection, and meaning so you can thrive wherever your path takes you.

"I want to think again
of dangerous and noble things.
I want to be light and frolicsome.
I want to be improbable, beautiful,
and afraid of nothing,
as though I had wings."
MARY OLIVER, "Starlings in Winter"
Therapy invites you to slow down, tune in, and find steady footing. As we turn down the volume on overthinking, we get clear on what you want for yourself – not based on what you’ve been told to want, but on your deepest values. We build resilience for life’s uncertainties with practical tools and deeper connection, to yourself and the world around you.
Therapy isn't about fixing you. It's about creating space to better understand yourself. Sessions are collaborative, compassionate, and paced to meet you where you are. Together we'll explore what's keeping you stuck, build practical skills for navigating anxiety and overwhelm, and help you reconnect with what matters most. We’ll meet missteps and setbacks with compassion, knowing that growth isn’t a straight line.
In our work together you'll...
-
Create more breathing room between yourself and overwhelm.
-
Understand your thoughts and emotions with curiosity and self-compassion.
-
Build self-trust so your choices are guided by your values instead of anxiety.
-
Develop practical tools you can carry into everyday life.
Therapy that's uniquely tailored to you. Early on we’ll create a plan, adjusting as we go based on what we learn. We’ll break your goals into manageable steps that build your confidence and motivation to keep growing. Progress happens at your pace: I offer ideas and tools based on my training and what I feel might be helpful, but you’re in the driver’s seat.
Therapy from wherever you feel most comfortable. Sessions are offered securely via telehealth, allowing you to access therapy from the comfort of your home or another private space. Many clients find that meeting virtually makes it easier to fit therapy into busy lives while still building a meaningful therapeutic relationship. If you’re in the Durham/Chapel Hill area, you may also choose to meet outdoors: learn more about nature-based therapy here.

Our Approach to Healing
We draw from three complementary evidence-based therapies. Rather than following one therapy model, I thoughtfully integrate these approaches depending on your goals, personality, and what feels most helpful. Together we’ll discover what resonates most with you.
-
ACT helps you develop a different relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions so they no longer run the show. Through mindfulness and values-based action, you'll learn practical skills for responding to anxiety with greater flexibility and intention.
-
Internal Family Systems (IFS) focuses on deepening your connection with yourself. We help your anxious parts feel seen and understood so they can soften, and we strengthen your calm, compassionate Core Self to lead your parts into supportive balance.
-
Narrative Therapy explores the stories you’ve come to believe about yourself and your life. Together we’ll separate you from the problem, uncover moments that challenge anxious narratives, and build new stories rooted in your resilience, values, and strengths.
You don’t have to choose. You don’t need to know which approach is “right” for you before reaching out. That’s something we’ll discover together. Every person is different, and therapy should be too. We’ll work together to find the approaches that best support your goals, your strengths, and the life you want to build.
